Tools · Report a problem to Tameside Council

Quick links to common council reports.

Council reporting forms are often buried three or four clicks deep. Here are the direct shortcuts to the most-used Tameside Council "report it" pages. Each link opens the official council form.

Missed bin collection

Most reported

Report a missed general waste, recycling or paper/card collection. Reports usually need to be made within 24-48 hours of the scheduled day.

Fly-tipping / dumped rubbish

Environmental

Report rubbish or items dumped on a road, verge, alley, park or open land. Include a photo and what-three-words location if you can.

Open the fly-tipping page →

Streetlight not working

Highways

Streetlights are sometimes the council's responsibility and sometimes National Highways' (for trunk roads). The council form routes correctly either way.

Pothole / road damage

Highways

Report a pothole, sunken manhole, damaged kerb or worn road marking. Major-road potholes (e.g. M67) go to National Highways, not the council.

Abandoned vehicle

Environmental

Report a vehicle that's been parked and untaxed/un-MOT'd in the same spot for an unusually long time, or appears scrapped.

Noise nuisance

Environmental health

Persistent music, building work outside permitted hours, alarms, dogs. Out-of-hours noise emergencies are handled separately — check the page.

Pest control

Environmental health

Rats, mice, wasps, fleas. Tameside Council offers a paid treatment service; some treatments are free for households on certain benefits.

Antisocial behaviour

Community safety

Persistent ASB by neighbours, on the street, or around premises. For an emergency or crime in progress, always call 999. For non-urgent crime, call 101 or use the GMP online portal.

Bus / tram service problem

Transport (TfGM)

Buses, Metrolink and other public transport across Greater Manchester are run by TfGM, not the council. Use the TfGM contact form for missed buses, faulty stops and accessibility issues.

Crime (non-emergency)

GMP

For a crime in progress or immediate danger, always 999. For non-urgent crime reports: GMP non-emergency 101 or their online portal. Tameside Council does not take crime reports.
